Free Walworth Garden Farm Bee Keeping Courses
Details of day courses on bees and bee keeping at Walworth Garden Farm...

A great start to the re-established TRA. I'm applying for funding for plants separately. So keep your fingers crossed and if anyone has other ideas where we might apply for funding then please let me know.

113a Lorrimore Road Trees Cut Down
One of these trees was deemed to be worthy of keeping during the planning process, although it wasn't a protected tree. The developer called Southwark Council to say that the tree roots had been damaged and that the tree was unsafe.
Unfortunately Southwark agreed and two trees have been cut down today. This is despite all of the TRA efforts to ensure the trees would remain after the development.
Southwark are insisting that a substantial tree is planted to replace the ones that have been cut down. We can have a say in what replacement tree is planted. But the deadline for the decision is 29th February.
What do you want to do? Would you like a meeting or an online discussion? If there is to be a meeting the most likely date would be a week from today - 21st February.
We need to act quickly and make our views felt, so please let me know via the website or reply to the email I'm sending to the mailing list.

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is on the 6th March at 7.30 at St Paul's Church, Lorrimore Square.
There's also a lot to talk about:
- The TRA is working on making a concreted area on Lorrimore Road in to a green space.
- We need to set plans in place for the Annual Summer Picnic in Lorrimore Square - should we make it a celebration for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee? We might be able to get additional funding for this.
- There's also our ongoing campaign to establish Lorrimore Square as a Protected Green Space to prevent it being built on.
Our Resident Services Officer from Southwark Council, Suzanne Matthews, will be there so it's an ideal opportunity to talk about issues with her.
Put the time and date in your diary. It's a great way to meet your neighbours.
Refreshments will be provided.

Meeting to organise a new AGM
Items for discussion include the leafleting and other ways to make sure everyone who lives in the TRA area knows about the AGM to ensure we achieve a successful meeting.
If you can't come, but you are willing to help with leafleting to make sure we can hold a successful AGM, then please get in touch (surreygardenstra@gmail.com). The aim is to hold the AGM in March, but the date will be confirmed at the meeting on Tuesday.
Hope to see you on Tuesday!
