ROAD CLOSURES

In July Southwark Council introduced measures to create a low-traffic neighbourhood. The measures mean that: Carter Street is only accessible to buses, bicycles and emergency services; Cooks Road is blocked between Forsyth Gardens and Fleming Road; Chapter Road is blocked between Lorrimore Square and Westcott Road.

The TRA was invited to a zoom meeting with the council on 30 July 2020 to discuss the measures. 

Before the meeting the TRA put up posters and emailed members to try and find out what people thought of the road closures. The poster is below.

During the meeting those present had the opportunity to share their views (Our TRA and Brandon TRA gave a summary of the views of their residents) but there was little time allocated for actual discussion or for the council to respond to views. 

The minutes have been circulated to those at the meeting but Surrey Gardens TRA asked for amendments to be made. We will post the minutes here as soon as the final version is circulated.
