On Sunday 2 August we held a community gardening session. The gardens at Lorrimore Square were closed for 4 months during lockdown and as a result the Wildlife and Sensory Garden had not been looked after at all. A group of us spent 3 hours clearing, pruning and weeding and it now looks as good as new. It is a beautiful, shady space that has been planted to attract wildlife with a bug hotel and bee-friendly plants. It is a lovely space to sit and ponder on the lovely bench that surrounds the tree.
If you are interested in joining us for gardening, you don't need to have any experience or equipment. We have gloves and tools to share and between us we work out what needs doing to keep our gardens looking lovely. We finish with refreshments and it is a great way to spend a couple of hours. Email us at the TRA if you would like to get involved.
