1. Chair opened meeting, noted apologies
2. Chair’s Report:
- This month has again chased Cleaner, Greener, Safer (CGS). There has been a delay in response due to a delay in response from EDF Energy who are responsible for the lighting. We now have agreement on the lighting from EDF Energy. CGS are estimating that they need approx 2 months to prepare, and then EDF can install the lamp-posts. After this CGS can start the landscaping. Current estimates for project completion are Autumn 2010
- Heritage Lottery Fund Grant for heritage boards
- Met with Steve Callaghan (head of parks team) and we are currently waiting for formal response for sign-off. We cannot submit the final application until this is received.
- Tony will continue to chase for sign-off so that application can be submitted (ACTION)
- Picnic in the Park:
- Article submitted to Southwark Housing News, which will appear in July’s issue
- Picnic submitted as an event on the Southwark Council website
- Cath has organised the bouncy castle and Southwark Community Games (cricket and football)
- Tables and electricity has been organised
- Budget of £100 for food and drinks was agreed
- Jeanette / Jo will order and arrange for food to be prepared (ACTION)
- Tony to speak to John regarding the picnic advertising banner (ACTION)
- Varnishing of the statues in the park:
- Tony / Marcus to look into getting this completed
- Painting of the gates / fences (ACTION):
- Tony has requested a contact at Southwark (through Steve Callaghan), if we don’t receive a response we will look into getting the gates re-painted. (ACTION)
- Lorrimore Road Redevelopment:
- Response to council was submitted
- Tony and Marcus have been in touch with 3 local councillors (Neil Coyle, Patrick Diamond and Cathy Bowman). There is a planning meeting on 1st June, and our concerns will be raised through the councillors. They will recommend a delay, in order to enable a site visit which will include local residents.
- We hope to receive an update on 2nd June
- Have received the tenants fund, and we have paid the insurance
- Friends of Pasley Park:
- Tony and Marcus attended the AGM
- The Friends group has received a CGS grant to cover an art memorial to the zoo, and a feasibility study to look into potential development for the future
- Forum is set up to make decisions regarding the park; Tony and Marcus encouraged attendance from our TRA to ensure that our views are considered
- Safer Neighbourhoods Team (for Newington Ward):
- Marcus attended, please see blog for more details
- Next leaflet:
- Marcus to design a newsletter, which will be used in conjunction with the quarterly leaflet
- We will also look to publish this on Southwark Housing for further opportunities to publicise the TRA/TRA events through Southwark Housing News and Southwark Life
- Plants for the church:
- Marcus will order the plants using the previously agreed budget of £100
